I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!!!!!!!
I got this for my trip to Japan, and love it so much. The pictures are just beautiful- clear and focused with such vivid colors. It's durable, sleek, and takes great pictures. The quality is wonderful, and it's so easy to use.
Anyone that gives it a low review is full of it. Come on, it's $100 for a camera that works wonderfully! If you want a camera that takes studio-grade photos, pay the price for one. But this little camera takes lovely pictures- I think it does the job very well.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this camera to anyone. I have no regrets in buying it- I love it!

The out-of-box image quality is either blurry or grainy. I tried couple of things and went on-line for a solution. I got that setting the ISO level to 80 helps a lot. The pictures are coming fine when you set the ISO to 80. For this Press the Menu button when you are in picture shooting mode, navigate to the ISO sensitivity and set it to ISO 80.
The video quality is excellent in this camera, almost like a camcorder video.

Pros: good battery life, small size, color
Cons: grainy pictures (regardless of setting, lighting, etc.) on screen, computer, and when printed out; video had lines through it; very slow shutter speed; complicated menus
I was in the market for a small, simple point and shoot. I found this camera on sale and purchased it without reading any reviews and boy that was a mistake. I didn't expect a camera that took professional quality pictures, but I definitely expected the pictures to look better than my old camera (a 4.0 megapixel Polaroid). Literally I only took a handful of decent pictures in the year I owned this camera. Lucky for me, my dog used the camera as a chew toy and I was able to replace it with a Polaroid t1234, which is cheaper, takes better pictures, has more megapixels, and overall is easier to use.

I was simply looking for a "put it in my purse" camera when I bought this. I own an SLR, and I certainly didn't expect this camera to come across with that type of quality. I did expect Nikon to come up with something better than this though! I adjusted ISO, adjusted megapix's, played around with it. I am willing to bet that it takes some decent full light pictures. I was shooting in the evening, just basic kids playing around the house types of shots. They were awful. The viewfinder first will show you a very yellow/orange picture and then when you shoot it, well, it's a crapshoot what you're going to get! The pictures were more often than not very fuzzy.
The size and weight were just what I was looking for. Deck of cards. I bought the plum color and that was really cute.
IMO, not Nikon quality at all. I returned it and got a Kodak. Superior pictures...surprised me.

Ease of use, love the small compact style. Regardless of the other reviews, it takes wonderful photos. The other day someone blinked, it recognizes that! Wow, for the price and just to carry in your handbag! Love the quality of nikon. I would recommend for my friends.
